This role provides valuable support to a Nursery, offering a pathway to a successful career and a nationally recognized qualification in Certificate III in Horticulture.

As our client base expands nationwide, we're on the lookout for enthusiastic trainees ready to dive into the thriving Horticulture Industry! Join us as a Full-Time Trainee (mainly Mon-Fri, with some exciting weekend opportunities!) and kickstart your career in a growing field.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the daily operations of the nursery, including planting, potting, and caring for various plants.
  • Learn about propagation techniques for seedlings, cuttings, and other plant varieties.
  • Help maintain the health of plants by monitoring for pests and diseases under supervision.
  • Apply chemicals for pest, weed, and disease control following safety protocols.
  • Transport and store chemicals safely, adhering to relevant regulations.
  • Water and fertilize plants according to their specific needs.
  • Organize and maintain plant displays and inventory in the nursery.
  • Participate in the preparation and maintenance of growing areas, including greenhouse and outdoor spaces.
  • Support seasonal planting and sales initiatives in the nursery.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the nursery environment.
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely while assisting with various nursery tasks.
  • Apply environmentally sustainable work practices in daily operations.

Skills and Experience:

  • Strong interest in horticulture and working outdoors
  • Proficiency in using horticultural tools and equipment
  • Must be an Australian citizen or permanent resident
  • Willingness to attend accredited RTO training
  • Possess a valid police check
  • Self-motivation and excellent attention to detail
  • Confidence working in a physical, fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work Monday to Friday
